The finished sroll on the varnish bench.
The pigment here is red madder lake plus some transparent yellow and French Ultramarine artists oil.
I sometimes use a very clear green by Mussini to twinge madder to bown. The underlaying yellow is a fiery yellow/green
dyalrimide pigment which works well in small doses once the instrument is sealed up. Does not work well as a stain - or
as a varnish colourant.
